This Policy Brief is based on the 2010 World Atlas of Mangroves. The aim is to provide managers with lessons learned on the conservation and management of mangroves, and recommend policy measures that could be taken in order to protect them.

The World Atlas of Mangroves
The 2nd World Atlas of Mangroves is targeted at managers, conservation experts and scientists to aid with decision-making related to conservation and development schemes. It will also strengthen awareness for the protection and sustainable management of mangrove habitats not only at the rural community level but also at the political level.
