Dr. John Burt

John Burt has a PhD from the University of Windsor, Canada, which focused on the processes structuring marine community development on rocky breakwater reefs. He has been working in the Arabian Gulf for the past decade, and was the first UNU-INWEH team member to initiate sampling on the Palm Islands. His research revolves around questions relating to the development of fish, coral, and other benthic communities on coastal defense structures, understanding the processes that affect their development, and comparing these with those of natural reef communities. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Science & Public Health at Zayed University in Dubai.
