UNU-INWEH & MIEH Joint Distinguished Lecture Series

The United Nations University International Network on Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) and the McMaster Institute for Environment & Health (MIEH) are pleased to present an exceptional public seminar series.  This high-profile annual event brings leading-edge thinkers to Hamilton with a focus on building awareness of:

  • The complexities of relationships at the water-health nexus
  • The global water crisis within the context of environmental change
  • The potential opportunities that exist for transdisciplinary networks to respond

Speakers:

October 2009 - Mr. David Malone, President of IDRC spoke on "The Vital Importance of Context"

Mr. Malone's lecture drew upon his life experiences to emphasise the importance of understanding perspective and biases that individuals have as well as the importance of listening to the needs as articulated by local stakeholders. The event was held at the McMaster Innovation Park and was attended my more than 80 members of the academic and local communities.
