2008 - International Year of Sanitation
|
International Workshop This workshop is a unique opportunity to bring together international expertise to discuss key policy questions related to the International Year of Sanitation (2008). The workshop focuses on sanitation within the broader context of both human and ecosystem health and wellbeing. Specifically, the workshop will examine innovations in both policy and finance for women and children in rural, remote and otherwise marginalized communities. Invitees to the workshop bring novel ideas to undertake the following:
It is anticipated that the
discussions will lead to guidance and insights for changing
policy perspectives and mobilizing financial resources.
Recommendations from the workshop will be encapsulated in a
policy brief, in addition to published proceedings. The
dialogue will directly benefit from and summarize findings
developed and published by other IYS events and activities.
Further, it will be the starting point of an informal
network that brings together local community
representatives, NGOs, policy-makers and researchers
involved with water and sanitation issues.Contact person: Dr. Corinne Wallace Workshop Agenda
Workshop Registration The workshop is open and free to all, although spaces are limited. Registration is required for participation; the registration form can be downloaded <here> and should be sent via email to: Workshop Registration.
