The Institute is the United Nations Think Tank on Water, created by the UNU Governing Council in 1996 to strengthen water management capacity, particularly of developing countries, and to provide on-the-ground project support. Its core funding is provided by the Government of Canada and it is hosted at McMaster University.
As a member of UN-Water, UNU held the Chair of UN-Water from 2010-2012 (read more...). During that time, UNU-INWEH represented UNU at this coordination body comprising 27 UN entities and many international partners. |
