International Workshop
Improving Global Health through Safe Water
Council Chambers, Gilmour Hall Room 111, McMaster University
9-11 June 2007, Hamilton, Canada

The workshop is a joint effort between UNU-INWEH, McMaster University and the World Health Organization (WHO) to focus on the linkage between human health and wellbeing and the provision of safe drinking water and adequate sanitation. Specifically, the workshop will focus on the following topics:

Discussing the driving factors that connect human health to safe drinking water and sanitation

Identifying major research gaps in the global water-health realm as well as capacity needs in developing countries for addressing those gaps

Investigating new avenues for addressing the policy challenges in provision of safe drinking water and adequate sanitation as part of the millennium development goals (MDGs)

Identifying areas of research that can be addressed through combined efforts of the workshop partner

Forming an informal network of experts focusing on water-health nexus

Workshop Registration
